Strengthen Your Sports Performance

The difference between a good athlete and a great athlete is the mental game.

The Three Performance States

Athletes generally move through one of three mental states during performance:

1. Boredom

When focus and motivation drop, performance can feel flat or disconnected. You may find yourself going through the motions rather than fully engaging in the moment.

2. Anxiety

Overthinking, overtrying, and putting too much pressure on yourself can create tension and frustration. Instead of trusting your ability, you may become distracted by mistakes, expectations, or the outcome.

3. The Zone

This is where athletes perform at their best. You feel focused, confident, present, and able to respond naturally without overthinking. Rather than forcing performance, you trust your training and rise to the moment.

The goal is to spend less time in boredom or anxiety—and learn how to access the focused, confident state where your best performance can happen.

Building a Champion's Mindset

Hypnosis can help athletes strengthen the mental skills that are essential for peak performance and experience “the zone” more consistently. By working at the subconscious level, hypnosis can help improve focus, confidence, motivation, mental toughness, and the ability to stay calm and composed under pressure.

Carissa Brown Holscher, CCHt., works with athletes at a wide range of competitive levels, from serious amateurs and aspiring Olympic athletes to professionals. Sessions are tailored to the individual athlete and may focus on overcoming mental blocks, managing performance anxiety, improving concentration, recovering from mistakes more quickly, and developing the mindset needed to perform with greater consistency and confidence.

Whether you are preparing for an important competition, working toward a personal best, or simply wanting to perform closer to your full potential, hypnosis can help train your mind to work with you rather than against you.

Gain Confidence and Determination

Be a Confident and Determined Competitor

The best coach is an encouraging one. Be your own best coach by using hypnosis. Increase the positive things you say to yourself. Hypnotherapy creates a winner's attitude by installing a mental picture in your mind's eye of peak athletic performance success.

Trust Your Training

Train your mind to trust your skills and abilities. Replay in your mind your best sports moments. Be inspired by a great athlete that you look up to. If they learned to do it, then so can you. Hypnotherapy allows you to use your mind to love your sport and compete like never before!

Get Rid of Mental Blocks

There are different ways that an athlete can get knocked off his/her game. It could be because of a criticism from a coach, teammate, or parent. Or, it could be a result of a past injury.

Breaking Mental Barriers

Another way mental blocks are formed may be from times in the past when something didn't go the right way. Then, fearful that this will happen again, an athlete might start overthinking, therefore creating a block in his/her true ability.

Since hypnotherapy goes straight to the subconscious mind, it can immediately release those blocks and increase the mental game!
